Marinela Cifteli is best known on the island for her sassy, sexy and glamorous label and boutique, Kurru Kurru, with designs reflective if her own personal style. In 2010, she expands her empire to include events management company and talent agency Ibiza Decadent, a fusion of fashion, entertainment and luxury.How do you describe your own personal style?
Moody! It depends on my mood, some days I just want to feel comfortable and some days I really like to look sexy and be very feminine. Sometimes of course I feel pressure to look good – I’m a woman!
Tell us about the outfit you’re wearing today?
It’s comfortable, it’s shiny and it’s definitely a little bit more night! I’m a night person. The pants are from Kurru Kurru’s new collection and the top is Jimmy Choo for H&M. I bought it in Germany and have never seen anyone else wearing it! My shoes are about six years old, by Dolce & Gabbana and the hat is by Julia Cranz for Kurru Kurru, designed to go with the outfit. I love wearing her hats because now I can just wash my hair, put one on and go – people just pay attention to the headpiece, it’s a cool statement.
Where do you shop in Ibiza?
I wear my own designs of course, but I also shop in NYC, in Galy and always look in the little beach boutiques in summer!
How do you define Ibiza style?
I don’t think people think about one particular style – it is a mix of party fashion and feeling comfortable. People in Ibiza tend to be very creative and usually make their own unique styles – the way they feel comfortable in themselves. There’s not as much pressure here like London or Paris to follow trends, so whatever you wear it looks normal because you are comfortable in what you are wearing.
Who is the most stylish person in Ibiza?
I would have to say Julia Cranz, she is so very stylish and also Joe, from Kurru Kurru is a really stylish man! And Ana Cabo and Eva Moro, again, they are both always looking really stylish.
Who is your style icon?
I love Kate Moss! I can’t change that.
