Benirras, a popular family beach

Benirras, Ibiza, Spain

One of Ibiza's most talked about beaches, as much for the atmosphere as for the scenery, Benirras is a medium sized beach with rocky, grainy sand and almost unbelievably clear water - it is easy to spend hours floating in the water here. As you drive down the winding road leading into the valley where the bay opens up, you'll pass thousands of fragrant pine trees - and just a few glamorous luxury villas set into the hills!

There are plenty of white boats dotting the dark blue of the sea and lots of wooden shacks lining the edges of the water. Popular with families, you'll also find plenty of animals running around however the most famous aspect of Benirras is its sunset - looking out at a striking rock, you can watch the sun say its goodnight as you listen to the sound of the hippy drummers bid it farewell - a Sunday sunset ritual.

Location: From Ibiza Town: 25 minute drive. From San Antonio: 20 minute drive.
