14 Cala Llonga

A wide, almost horseshoe shaped bay, Cala Llonga retains a slightly retro feel thanks to the quaint plastic fringed umbrellas dotting the sand and the many resort-style restaurants surrounding the beach. Surrounded by an amazing pine forest, the 360-degree view from the sand is postcard perfect and the tranquil waters are shallow, crystal clear and safe – a very popular choice for families with young children.

Location: On the east side of the island, next to Sol d’en Serra and close to Santa Eulalia.

Who goes there: Cala Llonga is a mecca for families on holiday, thanks to the multitude of things to do, water sports, shops, activities and safe, shallow water.

When to go: It’s worth arriving early to Cala Llonga, as it boasts a gorgeous sunrise and early morning beach goers get their pick of the sun beds closest to the water of course!

Just a few steps away from the sun beds you’ll find an assortment of bars, restaurants, shops, a supermarket, a children’s playground and even a doctor, should the need arise.
