Cala Martina, Ibiza, Spain

Cala Martina is a broad bay offering endless possibilities to those who dip their toes in its fine, clear water or stroll its soft, sandy shore. With view all the way down the coast to Santa Eulalia, stunning coastline and often a perfect breeze, it provides the perfect respite from the summer heat and is very popular for water sports. Windsurfers zip elegantly across the bay, while jet skis whiz through the water at high speeds while at the same time, you’ll find divers checking out the marine life deep below.

Location: Cala Martina sits just beside Es Canar on the island’s east coast.

Who goes there: Water sports enthusiasts, avid divers and snorkelers plus holidaymakers and families from nearby resorts.

When to go: When the wind is up, watching windsurfers is a wonderful source of entertainment, otherwise Cala Martina is a beautiful place to spend late afternoons escaping the heat.

White-Escapes loves: Beloved for the great water sport facilities, it’s no coincidence a diving school and windsurf school are present at this bay – why not take a lesson and try something new?
