Mumak by Kumharas, Playa D'en Bossa, Ibiza, Spain

A natural evolution

Mumak by Kumharas has been constantly evolving ever since its inception in July 2011. Sitting in the very heart of Playa D’en Bossa – smack in the middle of the beach - yet covertly shrouded by sand dunes, it’s a hideaway haven where laidback luxury meets rustic chic, filling a much-needed gap in the market for quality Asian cuisine all year round.

In keeping with the infamous Kumharas style, Mumak’s sun-drenched outdoor beach lounge features rustic chic wooden daybeds and a priceless view of the Med, while inside takes on a more sleek, modern approach. It is behind the scenes in the kitchen however, where Mumak really shines, taking Asiatic dishes and adapting them to modern taste buds, using healthy, fresh and local (where possible) produce.

Throughout winter, an ever-changing lunch menu is served from Tuesday to Saturday, including classic soups like Tom Kha Goong and Miso; favourite starters such as gyoza, thai chicken satay, and prawn tempura; hearty mains like spicy marinated fish, Thai and Indian curries, fillet steak and the island’s best Pad Thai!

By night, Mumak hosts a regular series of unique events, including a special couscous menu on Thursdays, with Flamenco legend Paco Fernandez playing live; Ibizarre Winter Dance Sessions on Fridays, with Lenny Ibizarre and Eva Pacifico; Mumakniños kids events on Saturdays and Energy Brunch on Sundays followed by a popular salsa party.

A very welcome addition to the Bossa beach scene indeed!

White's Miss W says: 'Asian food is my culinary weakness... and the perfect Pad Thai is pretty much like the holy grail for me. Mumak - you've got it, whether dining out on the beach in summer, in the warmth of the restaurant or from the takeaway window when I'm short on time. Perfection!'
