Talamanca, Ibiza Beach

Safe, shallow, calm and clear waters are the focal point in the pretty bay of Talamanca, the closest beach in proximity to Ibiza town. The long wooden promenade that runs the length of the golden shore is peppered with restaurants and beach bars, making it a great place to set up for either a day on the beach or just a quick lunchtime snack.

Location: Just past Ibiza town and to the left of the swanky Marina Botafoch area.

Who goes there: Talamanca is great for people watching as it really does attract all types. Spot the post-party people sleeping it off in between young families on holiday, locals catching a few rays in their siesta and plenty of kids, given how safe the waters are here.

When to go: The tranquility of Talamanca can’t be beaten in the hours before lunchtime and it’s easy to score a great spot on the sand or nab a sun bed.

White-Escapes loves: An early morning jog (yes, really!) following the promenade all the way past the very end and onto the rocky headland of Sa Punta, where a quick dive in the sea is the perfect summer morning pick-me-up.

How to get there

From Ibiza town, take a left turn onto Ocho de Agosto towards Marina Botafoch – the same road Pacha is on – and follow it all the way to the end. Turn left again and you’ve reached Talamanca’s shores, where also you’ll find free parking. Alternatively, you can walk from Ibiza town, following the Paseo de Maritimo along the water’s edge.
From Ibiza Town: 5-minute drive. From San Antonio: 25-minute drive.
