Clubbers' paradise
The striking white building that was the birthplace of the Balearic Beat and the subsequent Acid House phenomenon still attracts thousands of thrill seekers looking for the ultimate hedonistic party atmosphere in Ibiza each year.
Amnesia’s vast main room is perfectly suited to the rumbling sounds of trance, techno and house and has won it the title of the world’s best global club twice over. In this room, God is a DJ - perched in a lofty booth in front of a dazzling light display, facing a sea of hands raised in the air.
The dance floor, circled by a ring of glamorous dancers with a never-ending energy supply, can get heated, but a refreshing burst from the Megatron Ice Cannon quickly cools clubbers down.
Next door the stylish terrace offers a stark contrast, with its airy atrium and VIP balcony offering a birds-eye view of any outrageous behaviour, complete with table service and the finest champagne. The music policy takes a softer, more minimal approach here.
Amnesia’s long-standing parties look set for another successful season, with Sven Vath’s über-cool Cocoon rocking on a Monday and the infamous Cream every Thursday plus Matinee on Saturday. The club’s legendary foam parties take place on Wednesdays and Sundays, but be warned ladies, don’t wear your best Jimmy Choos for this one.
Certainly not for the faint hearted, nonetheless Amnesia is an Ibiza institution. With its strong musical heritage you could almost excuse dancing until the sun rises as a cultural excursion. We certainly do!
