At one with the north
For those wanting a rural retreat in Ibiza all year round, a trip to the north of ibiza is an absolute must-do. Close to the village of San Miguel, in the San Joan area, rests Ca n’Escandell, a 200-year-old Ibicencan finca, organic agroturismo set amongst 45,000 square metres of fertile farmland, growing olives, almonds, fruit, junipers and surrounded by the natural expanses of Es Amunts, you feel completely at one with nature whilst enveloped in the utmost of luxury.
At Ca n’Escandell, the whitewashed walls, chimneys and Sabina-wood ceilings are typical of a traditional finca. Beyond this point, typical ends and unique begins, with nine beautiful bedrooms - including a spacious loft - individually styled and named by owners, Toni and Pepa Escandell. The décor in each room is hand-selected - whether purchased from local antique shops or custom designed - and pays homage to the charming atmosphere of the old house.
Nature is perfectly integrated into the design, accessorised with subtle chic touches. Rustic wooden detailing adorns the rooms and each has its own specially constructed stone bath to give you a calming, grounded environment for total relaxation.
In keeping with the super-tranquil vibe Ca n’Escandell is a short drive to a dozen of the islands most beautiful, secluded beaches. Spend your day at Ses Caletas or Benirras before checking out Las Dalias’ famous hippie market, or join a guided hike through the verdant, emerald green and totally unspoilt countryside around the finca.
Whether you spend your day relaxing by the turquoise pool or chilling out in sophisticated style, every moment spent at Ca n’Escandell is an indulgence. As their unofficial motto says: ‘You deserve it’. Oh yes we do.
