When a destination’s modern fairytale exterior - complete with babbling fishpond, sparkling swimming pool and bursts of colourful blooming flowers - inspires dreams of a Goldilocks style getaway, the urge to sneak inside and try it on for size is almost too tempting for words.
At Can Jaume, the intimate agroturismo countryside – just minutes from the beach, the buzzing port and Ibiza Town – the temptation turns out to be juuuust right.
Like its sister hotel and neighbour, Ca N'Arabi, each room is named after flowers and trees growing on the land and features unique and striking finishing touches courtesy of famous Andalucian interior designer Catina Pedroche.
Upstairs, grand suite El Manzano (the apple tree) surveys the orange groves under an all-weather electric roof providing multiple degrees of shade to its expansive balcony. Add two sun beds, three huge living spaces and a glossy black marble bathroom and you’ll be tempted to move in for good.
In deluxe suite Romero (rosemary bush), the star attraction is the high-tech (yet utterly blissful) aromatherapy Jacuzzi, where the colour of the water dictates the scent and atmosphere of the room - purple tinted water for example is awash with a relaxing lavender scent.
There are six more gorgeous rooms to choose from, all boasting sleek and chic bathrooms laden with lush products from Pascal Morabito Paris, fluffy white robes, oversized high-pressure shower heads, plush furniture, wi-fi, satellite TV and a selection of original vibrant art in the communal living area (available to purchase) by German artist and Ibiza local Hermann Ueberholz.
For our modern day heroine Goldilocks however, there is just one teensy tiny problem with Can Jaume – since each room is so tempting, she may have to stay all summer to try them all.
