As the name suggests, the Ibiza Gran is a striking sight in Ibiza Town. Designed by a team of architects led by Carlos de Benito, it is one of the most ambitious new five-star hotels to open on the island.
Open all year round, it’s like a miniature Ibiza – as you enter the foyer you are greeted by mountains of island salt and views out to lush gardens and the pool area - just like Salinas saltpans, the island’s beautiful countryside and stunning beaches.
Boasting 157 modern and sleek rooms, all with spectacular views to Dalt Vila and Formentera, there are two grand suites complete with two bedrooms, chill out area, separate bathroom and huge pool terrace; 14 deluxe suites; eight suites; 11 garden suites (good for families) and 124 junior suites. On top of this, there are two pools (one for adults only) and a main Jacuzzi.
Luckily you don’t need to be a guest to experience a little of the luxury - the sleek and delicious Costa Mara restaurant and utterly amazing Open Spa are open to the public. Then there’s the business of… business. Ibiza Gran has five offices perfect for those all-important meetings and a fully equipped conference room are available to hire.
Dubbed an Art Hotel, Ibiza Gran features a staggering 365 original pieces by national and international contemporary artists, including must-see amazing original black and white pictures by American photographer Tony Keeler taken in Ibiza during the ‘60s and ‘70s adorning a wall of the La Gaia cocktail bar.
Despite all this luxe the hotel hasn’t lost its sense of fun. New for 2010 is the rooftop terrace bar The Gee, hosting sophisticated events and super cool parties.
Gran by name and very grand by nature.
