Les Terrasses, Santa Eulalia del Rio, Ibiza, Spain

La bohème

A striking cobalt blue stone marker on the road between Ibiza and Santa Eulalia is your only clue as to the close proximity of Ibiza boutique hotel Les Terrasses, a blissful haven run with French elegance (and a dash of Ibiza bohemia) by owner Françoise Pialoux since 1987.

Featuring just ten beautifully styled rooms, two swimming pools and a quaint garden terrace restaurant, traipsing through Les Terrasses is like wandering through the home of an arty, well-traveled friend, and the welcoming atmosphere makes you instantly feel right at home.

From the whitewashed exterior to the oversized tiled floors, attention to detail is evident wherever your glance (or stare!) falls. Raw and rustic wooden furniture sits side-by-side with modern art, quirky light fittings and chic chandeliers. White linen and décor is offset with splashes of colour, while colourful modern bathrooms are primed for pampering.

The daily menu from the in-house kitchen is presented on a charming blackboard (Tuesdays are famous for homemade cous-cous), an ever-changing selection of international cuisine with a distinctly French influence. Cooked up in the country-style kitchen by Françoise and her Mauritian chef Rochane, much of the fresh, seasonal produce comes straight from the Les Terrasses garden, served up on colourful crockery that again evokes a homely feeling.

If only you didn’t have to check out at the end of your stay!
