Mirador de Dalt Vila, Ibiza, Spain

Ancient oasis (Oasis Antiguo)

Boutique Ibiza five-star hotel Mirador de Dalt Vila, open all year round, is tucked inside the protective walls of UNESCO World Heritage Listed Site Dalt Vila, under palm trees and by an ancient castle in the oldest part of Ibiza Town.

Owned by Enrique Fajarnes, it was originally a (rather swish) house from the turn of the century, passing through his family for generations until it came under his watchful eye.

The ultimate in intimacy, Hotel Mirador features just 13 rooms: one grand suite boasting a large private terrace complete with Jacuzzi, along with a mini gym and sauna; one suite; four junior suites; four doubles and three singles, each decked out in classical style. There’s also a luxurious second floor swimming pool to cool off beneath the castle walls – a truly unforgettable experience

Interior designer Joan Ribas has left no stone unturned – from bathrooms made from precious green Onyx and a jaw dropping chandelier made from jet-black Italian Murano glass in the foyer to antique furniture and exquisite soft décor throughout.

The elegant restaurant, serving gourmet Mediterranean cuisine, is open to the public, but with only six tables you definitely need to book ahead, while those in residence can take advantage of 24-hour room service, a modern touch, in this ancient oasis.

White's Miss W says: 'I'm lucky enough to live inside of the walls of Dalt Vila myself, but everytime (most days!) I walk past the Mirador, I dream of having my very own princess-style holiday inside... complete with modern day cocktails and ultra-luxe swimming pool. Some day my prince will whisk me away - by foot of course, since we are practically neighbours!'
