Treasure trove

Stroll through Ibiza interiors store Lotus and it’s easy to get lost for hours, designing your dream abode. But despite the maze of spectacular showrooms, a spacious loft area, plus nooks and crannies filled with thousands of covetable things, it retains that wonderfully cosy feeling of being at home.

Meticulously styled, Lotus – opened in 2000 by the German Hachfeld family, owners of nearby store Magazin – changes its ‘look’ weekly to show off the multitude of furniture, décor and accessories on offer. Here, modernity meets tradition resulting in a treasure trove of good taste.

Spy silver candelabras atop lime-washed rustic dresser drawers or wrought iron wine racks beside Moroccan lamps and side tables made from reclaimed Indian wood. Marvel at multi-coloured chandeliers illuminating traditional Chinese cabinets, French provincial drapes contrasting with sparkling Indian fabrics or intricately hand-painted cupboards displaying children’s toys.

Fabrics are Lotus’s specialty, offering cushion covers, curtains, bedding and upholstery custom-made to your specifications. Prefer instant gratification? Check out the plethora of beautiful bedding, towels, curtains and mosquito netting in store.

Beds are another major focus and once you’ve ascended the loft, you’ll discover Ibiza’s ultimate dormitory. There are princess-style four poster beds, ornately carved oriental beds, luxurious leather sleigh beds, rustic wooden beds, country style cane beds, kid’s beds and more – plus mattresses of all sizes available.

Like Goldilocks, you’ll have to find one that is j-u-s-t right.
