Ana Lui, Photographer, Ibiza, Spain
When a photographer is inspired by Stanley Kubrick you’re guaranteed mesmerising imagery, intriguing visuals and a lot of light. Meet Warsaw born Ana Lui – young, dynamic, hard-working and one of the most calm-natured people you’ll ever meet.
After leaving the Polish capital at the age of 20 for the creative boiling–pot of London, Ana studied at the University of Plymouth where she received a BA in Media Arts & Popular Culture. ‘All I wanted to do was make films and documentaries then when I began to receive praise for my photography, I decided to do both’.
During ‘working holidays’ in Ibiza - beginning in 2002 - Ana’s photography skills developed rapidly. Assisting high profile photographers and working for island based concierge company Deliciously Sorted, she discovered incredible locations and made many an impressionable contact over the three years she spent summers here.
With her tripod, Nikon and six lenses in tow, Ana’s skills are now spread far and wide. From shooting weddings, private events, fashion shoots, villas, magazine spreads and portraits to working with production companies and filming backstage fashion videos, for a spring-chicken (all of 26 years old) it seems Ana has achieved quite a lot.
Now a full-time Ibiza resident, Ana’s summers are spent capturing images of people and places whilst winters are for international travel and snapping the stunning nature and light of our white island.
