For art’s sake
Quirky, arty, creative and cool, the work of Ibiza photographer Barbara Di Giacinto captures much more than just her subject in the frame, with each shot evoking a distinctive mood through the use of strong imagery, striking colours and stylistic themes.
Born near Rome, yet leaving Italy at a young age to become more of a ‘global citizen’, Barbara’s ongoing inspiration comes through her extensive travels. She cites the art and history of Athens, the energy and creativity of Berlin, the ancient cultures of Asia, India, Nepal as major influences in her work, plus the landscape, light and colours of her adoptive home of Ibiza, where she has been based for ten years
The trained artist sees her camera as yet another tool with which to be creative and express herself, whether for business or for art. The island’s wide and varied locations provide picture perfect backdrops for any style of project, while Barbara’s chilled out attitude, professionalism and ability to understand precisely what a client needs, makes her an inspired choice for those searching for an experienced Ibiza photographer.
Previous works include corporate commissions for the Spanish government, still life advertisements for the likes of Barilla and Absolut Vodka, CD artwork, fashion shoots, family portraits, beach holiday albums and weddings.
In 2010, Barbara has introduced an all-new concept to her repertoire, giving clients the chance to reinvent themselves for the day, complete with hair, make-up and styling to reveal (and capture on film!) different sides to their character.
Whether it be unleashing your inner vixen with burlesque, fetish or sassy looks, or perhaps opting for a more classic or natural look than usual, it’s all about playing with your image to discover that beauty is more than just skin deep.
After all, why should models get to have all the fun?
