After discovering her love of the camera at the tender age of 18, while serving in the army in her native home of Israel, photographer Eli Zuta knew there was no looking back – only forever forward, through her multiple lenses.
After spending the next seven years as a self-taught snapper, playing and experimenting to discover her own tastes and styles, Eli went on to study photography and cinema at university in Tel Aviv. ‘In my normal, every day life, I look at things and see them as a photo,’ she says. ‘If I see something and I don’t have my camera, I get so upset and disappointed it hurts!’
She first came to Ibiza in 2006, on a whim, and fell in love with the island and its relaxed mentality, the beautiful and interesting people and the occasions that attract them, plus the beautiful light for which the island is famed. ‘I’m in love with this island, something is always happening – it’s heaven for photographers,’ she explains.
Every summer since her fateful arrival has been spent in Ibiza - where Eli is now a regular contributor to White-Escapes and works on amazing aerial shoots of boats from planes, plus portraits and studio work - while winter is reserved for traveling the world and returning home to Israel. The one constant? Photography, of course, where once the picture is taken, moment in time can last forever.
