Smiles and style
In summer 2010 – at the age of 24 – Dutch-born photographer Eva Kruiper moved to Ibiza to indulge her passion for photography. ‘What I love about photography is that every place and every face is unique and has its own characteristics,’ she says. ‘As a photographer, it’s my inspiration and job to reveal those interesting and special characteristics.’
Eva embraced the chance to assist one of Ibiza’s most in-demand photographers, Ana Lui, learning the ins and outs of photography on the job, while getting the inside scoop on the very best island locations.
Eva has also worked for island-based companies such as Deliciously Sorted and The Shop, photographing events and parties. She enjoys such events because the guests are all dressed up, look happy and when she flashes, they flash right back - a nice big white smile, that is!
Eva’s favourite subject to have in front of her lense is children loving their pure, honest and touching looks. ‘Children grow up so fast. I always tell parents to make as many pictures as possible of their kids, before the magic is gone.’ Eva also loves working with models and in summer 2011 Space Magazine asked her to produce some images to publish in their PASSION issue Eva did so, with passion, of course!
This winter Eva will visit New York, but she is already planning her return to the island (and Ana Lui Studio!) in summer 2012 – bringing new ideas, more photography knowledge and brand new camera lenses: say cheese!
