A new aura
Without a doubt one of the coolest lounge bars and restaurants in Ibiza, Aura takes the ‘It place’ status up a notch in 2011, with the addition of an all-weather, big top-style removable restaurant cover plus a totally revamped menu and awesome outdoor barbeque.
Designed by executive chef Caroline Seely and expertly executed by El Bulli trained head chef Gerard Ortiz, the new mouth-watering modern menu boasts distinctly Mediterranean flavours – with a huge focus on local ingredients, much of which hails directly from the new veggie patch out back.
Think four-hour pressed pork belly, five-hour slow roasted pork or chargrilled salad of squid, chorizo and mango, ort from the grill; succulent veal chop with sage oil, softly spiced chicken ‘al diablo’ or one kilo of marinated Galician beef to share.
Lined with tall palm trees, fragrant citrus orchards and lush Mediterranean vegetation, the magical garden restaurant space - designed by internationally renowned landscaper James Holderness and decorated by Ibiza designer Clare Bloomer - and swanky cocktail terrace are ideal to enjoy laidback, balmy summer evenings, with two private dining rooms seating up to 20 (with private bars and bathrooms), catering to large groups, events and VIPs.
Rounding out the Aura experience – in legendary Ibiza style - is music. On any given night, expect to see some of the world’s most famous DJs playing alongside impressive residents like Antz and Nightmares on Wax plus their visiting A-list friends hitting the dance floor!
