Stroll beneath a luscious canopy of bamboo, past watchful stone statues eyes and make your way around the grand estate that is Bambuddha Grove, and you’ll discover flushes of Ibiza luxe and an über cool crowd amidst ancient sexual artefacts and sultry, sumptuous furnishings.
Lovingly created by owner John Moon, Bambuddha Grove is a temple in which to host private events, monumental parties and everything in between. Celebrating 10 years of existence in 2009, John plans to hand the reins of his creation over to daughter Sasha and son Jonjon at the end of the season when he embarks upon well-deserved retirement.
The Balinese inspired Ibizan restaurant offers a delicious trademarked MediterrAsian menu (Asian culinary delights fused with the Med’s finest), including delicious new additions like Tiradito Nikkei, a starter of tuna and salmon marinated in lime, miso and yellow chilli, served with guacamole and mandarine sorbet. For mains, try the poppy seed encrusted lamb loin, served with quinoa, mango chutney and spice stock or sample sushi and sashimi, sliced, diced and spiced on site. As for desserts? Consider your taste buds titillated.
In the legendary Siam Bar signature cocktails such as Bamboozles, Karmapirinhas or Shivalingas are slurped to the sounds of long-time resident DJ and man behind the 10th Anniversary limited edition Black Sheep Tribe double CD, M.O.C Pauli. The several outdoor oriental sanctuaries are perfect for balmy summer evenings and for those with a taste for the exclusive, the Moonlight Bedroom Privee is divinely VIP.
Be sure to check out the gob-smacking and erotically inspired Khajuraho Lounge and when you eventually exit, indulge in retail therapy at the Sasha Moon Boutique, featuring her own clothing and bag collections plus jewellery by Zara Simon and risqué (yet very self explanatory) Tantra Boutique treats.
