Day-to-night dining
The name on the graffiti-emblazoned gates opposite Salinas beach may say ‘hostal', but don’t be fooled - beyond lies a day-to-night dining destination open to one and all.
Fuel up for your day at Salinas with a continental buffet breakfast, including eggs, bacon, croissants, fresh fruit and juices served until 12pm. Before hitting the beach, grab yourself a takeaway lunch pack, a clever new concept that includes your choice of salad, sandwich and drink in handy sand-proof containers.
If you prefer to eat lunch on a table rather than a beach towel, pop back between swims for the value-for-money three-course menu del dia. Offering three options for starter, main and dessert, every appetite is covered, whether you’re hungover, a health freak or vegetarian!
Between 4pm and 8pm, you’re invited to escape the sweltering heat for après-beach drinks and a traditional tapas buffet, with music courtesy of resident DJ David Phillips and guests. Then after sunset, discover the peaceful tranquility that settles on Salinas, while dining on the romantic, candlelit terrace.
For starters, try oriental red tuna and avocado tartar or a fresh summer salad of warm goat’s cheese with honey vinaigrette. Mains include pasta, pizza and paella, plus seafood so fresh it’s literally just been plucked from the sea. Seabass baked in salt? Yes please!
Meat eaters hail the enormous T-bone steak, grilled to perfection for two people to share, and the sizzling barbeque every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (from 7pm until 11pm) complete with music and entertainment, such as Sonica radio broadcasts and live flamenco.
The perfect end to the perfect day is BHS’s delectable homemade sorbet, and whether you’re a hotel guest or just visiting for the night, the knowledge you can come back again for breakfast is almost as satisfying as your meal itself!
