Cafe Mambo, an Ibiza institution on sunset strip

Cafe Mambo, Ibiza, Spain

Music and magic (Café Mambo)

No Ibiza experience is complete without watching a spectacular sunset at Café Mambo. The bar, on San Antonio’s legendary Sunset Strip, boasting the most famous sunsets in the world, has become an international institution with a long history of great music, superstar DJs and legendary parties.

Originally a dilapidated house, Mambo founder Javier Anadón spotted it’s potential back in ‘94, snapped it up, renovated it and within a year was attracting top DJs such as Sasha, Paul Oakenfold and Pete Tong.

For the Café Mambo team, the customer comes first and the atmosphere is one of happy times and feel-good factors. Soak up the vibe on the stunning white sail covered terrace with a classic cocktail or a glass of champagne at the bar. The décor is fabulous – crisp white tables stylishly contrast with the gorgeous blue mosaic and the iconic white Café Mambo sign.

The restaurant kitchen serves up tasty and simple favourites like burgers, steaks, pastas and salads, but it is the English breakfast – described as one of the best on the island - served from 11am to 4pm and ‘made with love’ that has been pulling in punters for years.

This year Café Mambo’s DJ line up is as stunning as ever. Home to all of Pacha’s pre-parties, DJs including Erick Morillo, David Guetta and the Swedish House Mafia will be spinning tracks alongside faithful residents Andy Baxter, Alex Wolfenden and Jason Bye as the summer heats up. 2009 also sees Cafe Mambo celebrate 15 years of magical musical moments with an all-new double CD, mixed by a legendary Ibiza chillout DJ whose identity will be revealed closer to the release date.

The highlight is the dramatic sunset, when the sky turns crimson and the burning orange sun dips into the sea, highlighted with incredible music and an electric atmosphere.

All hail the Café Mambo king!

The quintessential Ibiza sunset experience, there’s no preparing yourself for your very first time at Café Mambo. Or your 35th for that matter. Each and every sunset is supreme, and accompanied by the perfect dramatic soundtrack as the sun melts into the sea… and the DJs are quite good eye candy too!
