No Ibiza experience is complete without watching a spectacular sunset from the front row seats of Café Mambo, perched in pride of place on San Antonio’s legendary Sunset Strip. The iconic international institution boasts a long history of great music, famous DJs and world-renowned parties – the things Ibiza legends are made of.
Originally a dilapidated house snapped up (and jazzed up!) by founder Javier Anadón in 1994, Café Mambo – home to most Pacha pre-parties - has been attracting superstar DJs such as Sasha, Paul Oakenfold and Pete Tong for the past 16 years. In 2010, the DJ line-up is as rocking as ever.
Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, David Guetta and the Swedish House Mafia spin tracks alongside faithful residents Jason Bye and Alex Wolfenden before hitting the clubs on their respective Ibiza nights. Friday nights host the Pure Pacha pre-parties while Saturday is Defected’s domain.
Sharing star billing alongside Mambo’s prestigious DJ guests however, is the dramatic Ibiza sunset – boiling down to that one perfect moment when the sky turns crimson and the burning orange sun dips into the sea, inspiring a round of applause from the Mambo terrace. For a real Balearic experience, check out Jose Padilla’s weekly Sunday sunset sessions – they don’t call him the godfather of chillout for nothing!
For the Café Mambo team – with Javier’s sons Christian and Alan at the helm - the customer always comes first, creating an atmosphere of happy times and feel-good factors.
Soak up the vibe on the stunning white sail covered terrace with a classic cocktail, jug of sangria, icy cold beer or chilled glass of champagne. Feeling peckish? The kitchen serves tasty and simple favourites like burgers, steaks, pastas and salads to keep your Ibiza stamina up.
All hail the Café Mambo king!
