Cap D'es Falco authentic Italian restaurant by the beach

Cap D'es Falco, Ibiza, Spain

Sublime sunsets (Puestas de sol sublimes)

Tucked away at the end of a long and bumpy dirt track in the protected national park of Ses Salines you'll find Cap D’es Falco. Being hard-to-find makes your journey to this striking location even more worthwhile.

The waterside setting and breathtaking view of rolling hills set the perfect scene for lunch, dinner, cocktails, Ibiza weddings and special events. We love this restaurant's unspoilt sunsets – an alternative view of that essential Ibiza experience.

Run by the Fabbri family (originally from Genoa), expect authentic home-cooked Italian cuisine, with fresh pasta and delicious desserts coming courtesy of Mama Fabbri.

Direct from Milan is all-new head chef, Marino Colombo, revamping the menu with dishes such as Hijiki seaweed salad with almonds and mussels, spaghetti carbonara with a seafood twist, pink duck breast with orange sauce or the sensational ‘Mare e Monti’ (translating to sea and mountain) risotto with prawns and wild porcini mushrooms.

We also love the steady staples of grilled lobster or the fresh oven baked fish, accompanied by a fine bottle of Spanish or Italian wine, plus you’ll find a simple beach menu of bruschettas, ham and cheese platters or try sushi by chef Nacho Copola.

For 2010, Cap D'es Falco has undergone a stunning exterior facelift with new furnishings and lighting to accompany the lush and rustic day beds - made of driftwood and recycled materials - quite unlike any others on the island.

Cap D’es Falco’s trademark boat-bar sits beneath blue skies and the super slick cocktail bar serves all our favourites - daiquiris, mojitos and freshly squeezed juices - keeping you well watered as you watch the sun sink into the sea.

Chilled beats, a pebbled beach, sublime Ibiza sunsets, a corner for the kids and decadent dining - a superb combination indeed…

If I had enough hours in the day, I would watch that famous Ibiza sunset every day. As it is, I make a point of seeing at least one a week - and my favourite alternative viewpoint is from Cap Des Falco. The long bumpy dirt road is well worth the trip - it feels like you've discovered one of Ibiza's best kept secrets. So shhh.... let's keep it between us!
