An Italian affair
Michela and Paolo, the couple behind the incredible Italian restaurant Cicale, have a long-standing love affair with food. Serving home-grown vegetables, wild line-caught fish and pasta made fresh on the premises each and every day, every last morsel is a taste sensation.
The charismatic couple - Italians who met and fell in love right here in Ibiza - have poured their heart and soul into their venture, tucked away in the San Lorenzo countryside and it shows.
Housed in a 200-year old finca which has been serving food for more than 50 years, Michela and Paolo took the reins in 2006, revamping the entire restaurant, replacing the kitchen, wood-fired oven and all the fixtures and fittings until they were one hundred percent satisfied - even adding a children's play area to entertain the little ones whilst big ones indulge themselves… an indulgence we recommend over and over and over again!
Everywhere you look azure blue contrasts with vibrant yellow to create a cheerful and charming vibe. In summer, dine outside in the romantic garden at a candle-lit table or during the winter months cuddle up next to the flames of a real fire.
The real draw at Cicale however is the fantastic food. With a menu that changes fortnightly, there is always something to tempt your taste buds, from ricotta and chive-filled ravioli with clams in a light tomato sauce to fresh cold soup or a carpaccio of meat and customer favourites such sea bass baked with local olives and thinly sliced potatoes cooked till they're crunchy.
Almost worth the journey alone is the restaurant’s speciality coffee – cold, creamy and perfected with a dash of your favourite liqueur - so good it ensures your return visit.
We’ll see you there…all year round.
