An uber-stylish dining room, a kitchen serving exciting and modern cuisine as well as five-star service – this can only be the fabulous Costa Mara restaurant in the Ibiza Gran Hotel.

The dining room is striking with its high ceilings and huge windows, with crisp, white linen tablecloths contrasting with the dark wood of the gorgeous tables and chairs and award-winning Executive Chef Oscar Molina is already attracting quite a following with his imaginative a la carte menu that wouldn’t be out of place in the finest restaurants of Paris or London.

Try delicious starters like ravioli of foie gras with smoked herring, green apple and a touch of vanilla or celery mousse with prawns and young garlic oil.

For mains, the fantastic fresh fish is a must – we love the delicious John Dory with confit tomatoes and sauté mango and basil.

For those with carnivorous cravings, there is a marvelous selection of meat dishes, such as guinea fowl and crayfish with summer truffle or veal tenderloin with cream of broccoli and seasonal vegetables.

To complement your meal, Costa Mara has a superb wine list, offering some of Europe’s finest vintages as well as champagnes.

Lunch and dinner are open to the public (though you’ll need to book in advance) however, it’s only the fortunate hotel guests who can tuck into the breakfast buffet of tasty morning treats like scrambled eggs, freshly squeezed juices, buttery croissants and freshly brewed coffee - all the more reason to stay here. Then there’s winter and the Sunday brunch on offer promises to be nothing short of five-star.

To top off this altogether excellent experience is the first-class service. From the second you arrive to the second you leave your every desire is catered for, quick as a flash.

    As an Ibiza resident, I’m soooo happy Costa Mara is open to the public, all year round. In summer, it’s sumptuous dinners and in winter, long lazy Sunday brunches. Five-star food indeed.
