The alternative view
In the heart of San Antonio bay, tucked away from the tourist trappings and sitting right on the water’s edge, Kumharas has long been a secret lovingly guarded by Ibiza residents, offering an alternative view of the famous Ibiza sunset…
Take your place by the pirate tower bar, on rustic wooden couches, deluxe daybeds or simply perch on the rocky coastline to sip on cocktails and sangria, snack on crepes and barbeque bocadillos as the sun melts into the sea before you.
After dark, the inner sanctum of Kumharas comes alive. A miniature hippy market unfolds around a giant statue of Shiva, while the incredible domed restaurant space is beautifully illuminated by candlelight, setting the scene for the amazing gastronomic journey that lies ahead.
A plethora of starters take you from the Med to the Orient – think crunchy seafood parcels with coriander, teriyaki chicken skewers and king prawn tempura. Mains include a selection of wok dishes and curries, fresh seafood prepared with seasonal herbs and oriental spices and deluxe meats like ox tenderloin, duck with orange and ginger reduction and ‘Pluma Iberica’ of pork.
Music is at the heart of Kumharas, with nightly events bringing the venue’s signature chillout, ethnic and ambient sounds, from Flamenco legend Paco Fernandez to oriental band Salam and local DJs. You’ll also witness jaw-dropping displays of fire dancing, acrobats, performers and more, all adding to the holistic Kumharas experience.
