Kept secluded by sand dunes at the southern end of Playa D’en Bossa is Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Club, where Ibiza’s cognoscenti enter via a private winding path guarded by totem poles, passing through exotic palm-filled gardens, dotted with alluring day beds, candelabras and elephant statues. Crossing a quaint and tiny bridge completes this pilgrimage to paradise… and that’s when the magic truly begins.
The vision of French owner Yaan Pissenem was to create an Ibiza beach club like no other, with the design and concept successfully combining ethnic pizzazz and minimal chic with elements of edgy urban cool.
Plush VIP day beds in the sand, rustic thatched umbrellas and raw wooden furniture with a distinctly Balinese influence are complemented with modern seating and lighting. Super-cool music, a fashion boutique, beach massage hut, juice bar and chill out lounge complete the package, which quickly became a must-see island destination within weeks of its opening in early 2009.
However looks aren’t everything, therefore head chef Mike Licata Caruso is on hand to tempt taste buds daily with a modern Mediterranean menu fused with exotic flavours. Guests are spoilt for choice on a daily basis, with freshly caught fish, the finest cuts of meat sizzling on the grill and delectable creations such as the to-die-for crab ravioli all vying for attention alongside wholesome salads, gourmet beach snacks and an all-new oyster bar catering to the demands of Ushuaia’s sophisticated clientele.
After dark, Ushuaia becomes a grown-up playground of pleasure with amazing beach-side music soundtracks until midnight, while guests indulge in seaside sushi and gourmet barbecues on the sand.
All you need to do is get there...
