Located in one of the island’s oldest houses, Ibiza Restaurant Villa Mercedes is an oasis of style and sophistication in the brash and brazen town that is San Antonio.
Originally built in 1904, the restaurant in Ibiza opened in 1999 and since then has been steadily growing in popularity amongst an international crowd of diners.
The décor is reminiscent of a colonial palace at the turn of the century - lavish furnishings, candle-lit tables and seductive lighting make for a romantic and relaxed atmosphere. The impressive white façade with the modern touch of electric blue windowsills is an eye-catching site – even more so when lit up at night.
Options to dine? There are many. Choose from the terrace with fantastic views of the harbour and San Antonio Bay, the intimate upstairs restaurant or the bistro on the ground level.
Offering a brand new menu for 2008, with many more vegetarian, organic and Asian fusion dishes to tempt taste buds – try the delicious king prawn salad served with Iberian ham shavings and seaweed, followed by supreme of hake encrusted with toasted pistachio nuts. Or may we suggest the duck confit with apple and cinnamon puree, finished off with a decadent hot chocolate fondue and fresh fruit for two - saucy!
The Villa Mercedes restaurant experience isn’t complete without sampling one of the imaginative cocktails designed exclusively by a Brazilian cocktail king. Our favourite? The super refreshing Mangaca, made with Cachaça, soda water, fresh mint, sugar cane and mango.
Music is just as important for one of the best restaurants in Ibiza, Villa Mercedes as it is for sister bars Café Mambo and Savannah. Relax to fantastic Flamenco chill from Paco Fernandez, blissful Brazilian beats, live jazz or sexy saxophonists, each night of the week.
Now that sounds like our kind of place.
