Northern gem
In the northern area known as ‘Artisan Hills’, opposite the beautiful church of Sant Miguel, and with gorgeous views over a valley, is a gem of a jewellery store and one of island’s greatest treasures, Natasha Collis Shop & Studio.
Nastasha’s work has a strong signature based on solid 18ct gold nuggets, individually and carefully shaped, and then meticulously matched with asymmetrical precious and semi-precious stones that melt into the gold setting to find their own harmony.
These handmade pieces – also made in white and pink gold plus silver – are designed to be casual but boast some quite serious gems including white, black, grey, brown and pink diamonds; rubies, emeralds, sapphires, tourmalines and spinels. These interact to create spectacular pieces in a magical spectrum of colours.
No two pieces can ever be made alike, meaning each is a unique collector’s item. Even the way you wear them is truly your own – stack multiple rings on the same finger or place a wedding ring in between two others. It’s very elegant to wear just one chain or bracelet, but to wear several at a time makes them look even more amazing.
The spectacular Natasha Collis showroom is housed inside a 500-year old building, and still retains original Ibicencan elements, such as the wooden beamed ceilings and stone floors, creating the perfect combination of antique chic, boudoir-style ambience and tradition.
Not in the north? Visit Natasha Collis mobile boutiques such as Agroturismo Atzaro or El Chiringuito Es Cavallet on Mondays and Saturdays. Overseas stockists include Browns London, Designers Guild London, Astley Clarke London, Luisa Via Roma Florence and Tomas Maier The Hamptons, among other high-end locations.
