Blushing buddhas
Bambuddha Grove, Ibiza, Spain
As you stroll beneath a luscious canopy of bamboo and past watchful stone statues eyes, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve just landed in Ubud, Goa or Ko Pha Ngan, not outback Ibiza.
Make your way around the grand estate that is Bambuddha Grove, and you’ll discover flushes of Ibiza luxe - from shimmering disco balls to an übercool crowd sipping on Bamboozles, Karmapirinhas or Shivalingas - amidst ancient sexual artefacts and sultry, sumptuous furnishings. Owner John Moon has lovingly created a temple to host private events, monumental parties and everything in between.
Indulge in the Bambuddha Buffet within the Balinese inspired restaurant or opt for delicious somethings from the trademarked MediterrAsian menu (Asian culinary delights fused with the Med’s finest) followed by a dessert guaranteed to titillate your taste buds.
Cocktails are slurped to the sounds of long-time resident DJ M.O.C Pauli in the legendary Siam Bar, meanwhile sushi and sashimi are sliced, diced and spiced just around the corner. The several outdoor oriental sanctuaries are perfect for balmy summer evenings and for those with a taste for the exclusive, the Moonlight Lounge is divinely VIP.
Be sure to check out the gob-smacking and erotically inspired Khajuraho Lounge and when you eventually exit, make a beeline for the three retail outlets. Think stunning Bambuddha Boutique fashions, dazzling Buddha Gem Palace trinkets courtesy of Jade Jagger and Jean Francois Fichet and the risqué (yet very self explanatory) Tantra Boutique treats.
Finally, fresh for 2008 is BambuddhaPure – a 100% eat-good-feel-good respite serving up our favourite vegan brunch with a side of wi-fi. Devour snacks, smoothies and juices in the garden and soak up vitamin D whilst consuming A-Z.
Om, namaste and thankyouverymuch..
