Imagine relaxing in a heated saltwater pool on the edge of a cliff with panoramic views of the sea as far as the naked eye can see. This amazing experience is the star attraction at La Posidonia, the Hotel Hacienda’s beautiful Thalasso spa.
Specially developed for the five-star hotel, the Cascadas (which translates to waterfalls) are a circuit of eight pools of heated and filtered seawater, with tiny water jets that massage the body from your feet to your neck. Even more amazing is the fact you can experience this while watching the famous Ibiza sunset – total bliss.
The spa - named after the protected seaweed that grows around Ibiza and Formentera - is housed in the smaller of two towers located within the spectacular hotel grounds.
Treatments - or ‘treats’ as the spa manager prefers to call them – range from full-body massages, scrubs and Hammam (a steam bath), to the more unusual hot-stone reflexology, where you walk across smooth, grey stones while warm and cool water is sprayed at your legs.
The extensive menu also boasts anti-ageing, holistic and relaxing facials, along with a variety of beauty care treatments for the boys.
Our favourite? The spa rituals, special packages designed specifically with couples, pregnant women or sunseekers in mind. We adore the Duo, a full-body massage, followed by an anti-ageing facial and Cascadas circuit for you and your loved one – perfect for honeymooners, an anniversary surprise or those in need of some serious spoiling.
The spa is open to hotel guests and the public by appointment. For those opting for a day visit, the Magic Moments package is the perfect escape – a Cascada circuit followed by a snack, lunch or dinner, depending on the time of day.
