Straight to the point
Sa Punta, Ibiza, Spain
At the furthest point of Talamanca Bay, with breathtaking views to Dalt Vila you’ll find the chic hangout that is Sa Punta.
Not content with a spectacular location, impeccable service and amazing food, French owners Rodolfe and Rita complete the Sa Punta package with private catering – the venue itself can be hired and transformed for weddings and special events.
Much more than just a restaurant, Sa Punta – which translates to literally to ‘The Point’ - is their passion. Constantly adding unique touches, like super-kitsch French fries served inside a mini terracotta flowerpot, it’s easy to see how the couple have retained Sa Punta’s staunchly loyal clientele base after taking over the reins from previous owners Pacha just four years ago.
Argentinian Chef Diego Dechecco – making his Sa Punta debut in 2008 - runs his kitchen with flair, turning out dishes like red tuna and wild seabass tartar with ginger and citrus fruits to start or green asparagus and fresh summer black truffle risotto for main.
To finish off your evening, the incredible homemade ice cream really must be tasted to be believed, particularly the Semifreddo (inspired by celeb chef Jamie Oliver), a blend of crumble, coffee and chantilly you mix yourself to suit your taste.
Sa Punta’s wide open space offers plenty of different dining options, from the wooden decking and chill out lounge to a terrace with thousands of twinkling lights draped around the pine trees - nothing less than divine on a balmy summer’s night.
Just as exquisite during the daylight hours however, Sa Punta is also open for lunch, where we can’t go past the house specialty, the Bikini toasted sandwich of cured ham, buffalo mozzarella and black truffle – delish.
All the more reason to book two tables a day!
