Location:

The retreat, which offers three different courses, is situated in the mountains above Sant Joan. This picturesque village lies in the North of the Mediterranean island of Ibiza.
The South facing hillside location of the farmhouse provides spectacular panoramic views of the wooded valley below.
Accommodation and Facilities:
Relax body & soul at this beautiful 300 year old Farmhouse, situate din the mountains above the picturesque village of Sant Joan, in the norht of the island of Ibiza.  The property, at which the retreat is held, is a traditional Iberian farmhouse built in the 1600’s. The recent renovations to the stone built farmhouse are in keeping with the style and the added studio house was also built with this in mind.
The main house has three bedrooms, a large bathroom, a kitchen with a dining area and a reception room. There are two further outdoor dinning areas, one in the shaded kitchen courtyard, and the other on the south facing terrace at the front of the house.
The morning yoga sessions are held in the detached studio house which has fantastic views of the valley. Additional treatments, which can be booked, such as massages, also take place in the studio. For nature lovers there is also a secluded outdoor hot and cold 'rain' shower to the side of the studio house.   
With its large terrace and decking area the 12 metre long pool is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the valley.
Alternatively explore the garden with its aromatic fruit trees, or the wilder flora and fauna found in the extensive (16 000 square metres) hillside grounds. 
On clear nights lie back and count the shooting stars. Due to the location and distance from more populated areas the property enjoys amazing night skies.
Many of the fresh herbs and other ingredients are directly out of the Magic Mountain garden. The farmhouse is also eco friendly, hot water and electricity are supplied by solar energy, and even our pool is maintained using solar energy. Rainwater is collected and re-used, and biological kitchen waste is recycled in our compost.

Yoga Teacher Toshi 
Petra Widmer (Toshi) is our “resident” yoga teacher as she teaches all the yoga sessions that are included in the fasting, detox and GI diet courses at the Magic Mountain Retreat. She also offers you the opportunity to join her for special yoga courses at the retreat.
Toshi began her yoga training in a very intense way back in 1984 when she spent three months in the Indian jungle with a B.K.S. Iyengar student. She later expanded her yoga training by studying with teachers such as Michael Schmidt from the Amsterdam Iyengar Institute and Godfrey Devereux who is famous for his unique yoga style.
Since Toshi began teaching her own yoga classes in 1991, she has developed her own teaching style, which reflects her Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga training, as well as a deep understanding of the Chakras. In her classes she also incorporates Kriya Yoga (Kappalabhati and Bandhas) as well as breath awareness and sound (humming and OM).
Toshi often also includes the Five Tibetan Rites in her yoga classes, particularly when there are beginners in the group. These exercises are said to be a form of Tibetan yoga and allow for a more gentle progression into more demanding yoga exercises. They are also referred to as the Five Rites of Rejuvenation due to the health benefits they can bring about when the exercises are incorporated into a daily routine.

* The yoga courses at the Magic Mountain Retreat provide you with the opportunity to receive plenty of individual attention to strengthen & develop your yoga technique. * * The courses incorporates daily yoga sessions in a tranquil environment and is complemented with healthy food prepared and cooked according to the GI system.
* The two and a half hour yoga sessions take place in the morning to allow for plenty of personal time in the afternoon so that you can pursue other activities such as exploring the beautiful surroundings or just chilling out by the pool.
* GI refers to choosing your food according to its glycaemic index and it is the most effective long-term approach to healthy living. By choosing a low GI diet you will not only lose weight but also reduce the chances of heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. With a GI diet you do not starve but learn to choose your foods more carefully to ensure a healthier balanced diet.
