Cala Bonita Opening
The secluded beach of S’Estanyol is a fiercely guarded local’s secret. You need to drive through the village of Jesus, keeping your eyes out for a handpainted marker on a rock, then follow a winding road up a hill before identifying the correct turnoff to make your way down a bumpy camino to reach your destination: paradise.
In 2016, the much-loved beach is being given a long overdue makeover, with the intimate onshore restaurant now under new ownership and operating as the very appropriately named Cala Bonita, complete with beach service, a cocktail bar and laidback grooves. Award-winning Australian chef Karen Martini is at the helm of the Mediterranean influenced kitchen, with a heavy focus on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Whether it’s a light bite, a long lazy lunch or a decadent dinner under the stars you’re seeking, Cala Bonita has it all. Rustic chic in appearances, yet with no expense spared for the highest quality finishes, the icing on the cake is of course, those uninterrupted views of the blue sea. But let’s just keep that our little secret for now, shall we?
