Christmas Charity Walk & Lunch
Friday December 21, 2018 is the shortest day of the year, so take advantage of the sunshine, and spend those daylight hours striding through the hills of San Juan with a Christmas Charity Walk and Lunch courtesy of Walking Ibiza, raising money for one of Ibiza’s favourite good causes at the same time.
The walk starts at the church in the centre of picturesque northern village, San Juan and makes its way up upwards to the hilltop stone cabin of La Montana, Walking Ibiza’s very own hostel-style base camp, where a delicious lunch of vegetarian paella with salad, bread and alioli is served with stunning vistas across the island. After lunch, take the trail back down the mountain passing through some spectacular viewpoints before arriving at the original meeting point around 2pm. Well-behaved dogs with leads are welcome, and it’s advised to bring good walking shoes or boots, plenty of water and a waterproof jacket in case of rain. The 8km walk and lunch costs 25€ with all proceeds going to Mojis Animal Sanctuary, so if you’ve any energy left remember to give yourselves a big pat on the back when you get home.
