Saturday Night – A Radio 2 Special
Pikes has been an Ibiza party institution since its inception in the early 80s and its reputation continues to grow with each new year. The hard-thumping heart of the party action is undoubtedly Freddies – the former suite Queen main man Freddie Mercury would stay in when he visited, quite frequently. The suite has now been transformed into a cave-like dance floor (although the bed remains!) complete with bars and a DJ booth, and on Saturday nights throughout the summer season, this is where you’ll find the movers and shakers of Ibiza hanging out.
On Saturday June 30, 2018 in a delightful twist to the usual schedule, Pikes joins forces with BBC Radio 2 to create quite the Saturday spectacular. The fun kicks off from 3pm as Zoe Ball broadcasts live from the terrace along with special guest Maxi Jazz of Faithless. By the pool, Groove Armada spin Ibiza classics and guests are treated to a live acoustic set from the ever-talented Morcheeba. As if that isn’t enough, Ibiza hero Pete Tong shares his island stories along with Pikes founder Tony Pike and the Mambo Brothers, Christian and Alan Anadon. The final throw down comes from legendary Scissor Sister Ana Matronic, who takes over the famous Freddies decks from midnight to 2am.
As usual, you’ll also find all your favourite Pikes characters up to their usual madcap antics – Sunny is back in the boudoir for fancy dress fun before hitting the bathtub for karaoke, expect spontaneous and crazy piano sing-a-longs with Roberto Campoli, incredible operatic performances from Ruby Murry (aka The Fat Lady) and much, much more. It’s the kind of house party where anything could happen… and quite frequently does!
This is a private event and only those invited and notified of guest list are permitted entry.
