Fiesta de La Primavera 2017

Sunday March 26, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 am

The annual Atzaró Fiesta de la Primavera has long been considered by islanders as the ‘official’ start to the party season. Absolutely everyone and their dogs (we’re serious – pooches welcome!) descends on the gorgeous, sun-drenched countryside complex for a day of socialising, music, drinking, dining, dancing, art, performances, shopping, workshops, kids activities – and the list goes on. In 2017, Fiesta de la Primavera has evolved, with the entire affair now running as a ‘cashless’ event. The capacity of the free event will also be limited to avoid overcrowding and ensure the safety and enjoyment of every guest.

So what does this mean and how will it work? Let us talk you through it. Although the event is free to one and all, access is via purchase of a special cashless wristband (recommended to buy prior to the event at www.atzaro.com to avoid queuing and guarantee entry). With that 15€, you will receive a 10€ credit to spend on food and drink within the venue, while the additional 5€ is donated to the new Atzaró Fundraising initiative (but more on that later).

Then you’ll need to create a ‘cashless account’ (which takes a speedy two minutes!) and add credit to it to spend on the day. Every time you snap up a snack, drink or treat, you’ll pay with your wristband (which can be picked up from three days prior to the event at the hotel or on the day), and the good news is, any remaining cash in your account at the end of the fiesta will be refunded to your account, so you won’t end up out of pockt. Ingenious! And if you happen to run out of credit – because let’s face it, many of us get carried away at Fiesta de la Primavera – you can also top it up onsite on the day.

Now that’s in order, it’s also important to note Atzaró are providing free transport to and from the event, to avoid the traffic problem that has been notoriously blocking the roads in San Lorenzo for the past few years. From midday until 2am, buses depart from the parking of the Palacio de Congresos de Santa Eulalia, Recinto Ferial de Ibiza and San Lorenzo, ensuring you arrive safe, on time and unstressed.

Once in the event, Atzaró is your oyster – with 30 market stalls feauring art, fashion, craft and jewellery, plus a huge variety of culinary options ranging from a buffet to funky food stalls plus barbecues and desserts. There are kids’ activities taking place from midday to 7pm, including face painting, fake tattoos, sport and arts and crafts. Live painting will be taking place in the garden and there will be a plethora of live music and performances throughout the day. Highlights include Ibossim, Ibiza Lights by Spencer Kennedy and The Red Funky Jackets (among many others); the award-winning dancers from Davinia Van Praag Academy strutting their stuff; DJs Anna Tur, Manu Gonzalez, Iban Mendoza and the hit fusion act Ibiza House Orchestra.

It’s an event not to be missed, and as mentioned earlier, it’s also an event with a heart, as the Atzaró Fundraising nonprofit association is involved. An idea inspired by the idea of supporting local charities and environmental organisations, it begins its journey at this event, raising money for four different local charities – think of it as the island giving back to those in need.

Remember, entrance is limited so if you want to guarantee entry, it’s highly recommended to buy tickets online now. After all, anyone who’s anyone on the island will be there – won’t you?
