These days, healthy eating is about more than just being mindful of what food you put into your body. It’s a lifestyle encompassing good nutrition, conscious thoughts and resonating among people with a similar mindset. All this and more can be found at Ibiza restaurant Ve Café – a hub for people with a passion for living well. A destination dining spot with sustainability at its heart, here, delicious culinary creations combine with an overall approach to living that prioritises body, mind and soul, enhanced by the most beautiful surroundings.

Located in Santa Eulalia Bay, an area that’s always buzzing with authentic verve, Ve Café sits just in front of W Ibiza. Spilling out across several turquoise tiled tiers that look towards the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, you can’t miss it thanks to a kaleidoscope of vibrant coloured cushions that are propped on each step. Palm trees sway and shimmer in the breeze and chic parasols provide shade from the heat of the daily sun – it’s the ideal place to stop for a pitstop while strolling along the seafront promenade, whether for a coffee and a snack or a long, leisurely breakfast or lunch.

The menu at Ve Café is worth taking your time over. Seasonal and produce-driven, it’s been designed to support local growers and in the process, both community and planet. Aiming for a positive impact through ethically and organically sourced products, Ve Café ply every plate with tons of nutrients while ensuring each mouthful packs a flavour punch. Furthermore, dishes are prepared by a kitchen team who work consciously, preparing and treating each element with the respect, love and care it deserves. It’s all about returning to the origins of food.

There’s also a splash of star quality on display on the Ve Café menu, thanks to the input of Consultant Chef, Haim Cohen. A TV personality in his own right, Cohen acted as the leading judge on Israeli Masterchef and is a linchpin of the Tel Aviv culinary scene. Inspired by the colourful fruit and vegetable markets of his youth, where his grandfather was a seller, he believes that a plant-based diet is one of the best ways to help maintain balance on the planet – an ethos that is visible in every one of his menu creations.

Find out for yourself by diving into one of Ve Café’s all-day breakfast combos. Served from 9am through to 5pm daily, choose from a variety of tostadas along with a fresh juice and coffee, all for the affordable price of 11€. From the tasty Avo Tostada with poached egg, tomato and gluten free bread to the Tomato and Ricotta Tostada with cherry tomato, ricotta and chives, at Ve Café, breakfast is a meal worth indulging in all day long. Away from bread, try the delicious vegan muesli or the açai bowl — every option is vegetarian, while some are also vegan and gluten free.

In typical Israeli style, hummus is so essential to the Ve Café experience that the menu boasts three different types of the tasty sesame-based dip. There’s the Straight Up, made with Bar Braha tahini, zhug and olive oil; the Full On, which is hummus served with warm chickpeas, zhug, tahini, olive oil and a splash of lemon juice; and finally, hummus served with homemade falafels and zhug. Buddha Bowls are another firm favourite. Try the plant-based version with couscous, ratatouille vegetables, chickpeas, raisins, herbs, olive oil or the Mexican-inspired bowl with quinoa, beans, avocado, jalapeño, cherry tomato, coriander and lime.

There are plenty of sweet treats available at Ve Café for diners on the go, too. Served by the slice, guests can spoil themselves while still remaining health-conscious with vegan chocolate cake, apple crumble cake, carrot cake (made with carrots from a local farm) and cacao or matcha energy balls. Ve Café also make excellent juices and smoothies, and the team have created ‘Beachnics’ – the perfect picnic packs to take away and enjoy on the beach, a boat, or a sunny terrace throughout the warmer months.

While serving up oodles of goodness is part and parcel of the Ve Café package, there’s more to this plant-based hotspot than just food. By connecting people through healthy eating, the restaurant has become a community-minded cultural hub that centres around good music and a great atmosphere as well as gastronomy. Islanders head here to work, rest, learn and converse, sometimes just casually to meet friends, but other times to link up at one of a series of weekly events. From Green Mondays (the perfect way to kick-start your healthy week, every Monday at 9am) and a daily Breakfast Club to family days, where kids are encouraged to play in the eco-conscious kids’ corner while mum and dad relax on the terrace, and soon-to-be-announced wine tasting sessions, there’s something for everyone.

That exclusive Ve Café community extends online too, where there’s a whole library of informative content designed to help you achieve your healthy living goals.
