An exclusive Easter escape – Petunia Ibiza

Stunning boutique hotel Petunia Ibiza unveils an exclusive series of events this Easter.

From its privileged position overlooking Es Vedra in Cala Carbo, Petunia Ibiza is the perfect place to settle in and spend the Easter long weekend. The luxurious boutique hotel reopens its doors on Friday April 15 and hosts an exclusive Easter experience for guests that encapsulates the original bohemian spirit of Ibiza.

Spring has well and truly arrived on the white isle, and the sun is once again shining on Balearic shores – just in time for the Easter long weekend. It seems the season is starting earlier than ever this year, and for many Ibiza lovers, it can’t come soon enough. An escape to sunny climes, fresh sea air and beautiful landscapes is the perfect antidote to the long winter, and Petunia Ibiza possesses all of the above in droves. Fortunately for those seeking an Easter escape, the gorgeous boutique hotel reopens its doors on Friday April 15, 2022 – making it a very Good Friday indeed – and is hosting a long weekend of activities and events to celebrate.

Set in a truly magnificent location, on the cusp of Cala Carbo and overlooking Ibiza’s most famous islet Es Vedra, Petunia Ibiza is a destination in and of itself. Each of the stunning rooms and suites are unique (like the Sea View Suite, pictured below) and have been designed to offer guests the ultimate in comfort and style. From the moment you unpack, you feel as if you are home. With a variety of spaces to chill, sunbathe, drink, dine and watch the magical sunset, there’s almost no need to leave the hotel – unless of course, you’re feeling tempted by the nearby beaches and bays.

The luxurious boutique hotel reopens its doors for the season on Friday April 15, 2022 and hosts an exclusive Easter experience for guests that encapsulates the original bohemian spirit of Ibiza.

The original bohemian spirit of Ibiza can be felt in the air at Petunia Ibiza; it’s in the welcoming smiles as you check-in, the attentive service in each of the restaurants, the attention to detail in your room or suite and in the carefully curated program of events designed for the Easter long weekend. Rates for the weekend start at 386.05€ per night (based on a three-night stay) and include a room upgrade, based on availability, and they’re also inclusive of all the Easter activities planned for opening weekend. Early birds will want to check in on Good Friday and soak up the overall ambience of the hotel, to shake off the stress of everyday life and start to immerse yourself in laidback island life.

Then, from the moment you wake up on Saturday morning – after a peaceful night’s sleep with nothing but the sound of the sea to send you off to sleep – you’ll be rested and ready to enjoy the weekend. Enjoy a lie-in, then spend the day by the pool and sip cocktails from a sunbed that’s cleverly sheltered from the sea breeze – yes, it’s sunbathing weather already – or relax on your terrace and simply order in room-service. Speaking of cocktails, on Saturday April 16, 2022Petunia Ibiza guests will be treated to a complimentary cocktail masterclass with talented head bartender Àlvaro. By night, guests are spoilt for choice, with access to the hotel’s amazing dining options – why not visit a different one each night of your stay?

La Mirada Rooftop is definitely the island’s premier Es Vedra viewing platform, and this season sees the introduction of an all-new Japanese restaurant in this space. Be among the first in Ibiza to sample the sights and delights of this exotic new kitchen at Petunia Ibiza, adding an additional element of elegance to the hotel’s already impressive culinary collective. If you’re craving something more casual, head up to Es Vedra, the hotel’s stylish rooftop bar (only accessible to guests) where you can order drinks and snacks from La Mirada Rooftop in a more intimate environment.

Los Olivos Trattoria is the place to be for Petunia Ibiza’s famous wood-fired pizzas, plus the restaurant will also be unveiling a new à la carte menu for 2022 on opening weekend. If it’s freshness and Mediterranean flavours you’re craving, look no further than La Mesa Escondida, where chef Lorenzo whips up contemporary twists on classic dishes using produce harvested directly from the hotel’s onsite huerta – you don’t get any more KM0 than that. The fruit and vegetable gardens of Petunia Ibiza are a testament to the hotel’s commitment to sustainability – a labour of love that has proven to be very fruitful (pardon the pun) since the hotel’s impressive redevelopment just three years ago.

There’s no rush at Petunia Ibiza. Guests are encouraged to take their time, have a lie-in,  bask in the sunshine, lounge by the pool or on the La Mirada Rooftop. Eat, drink, sleep, repeat is the order of the weekend.

When Easter Sunday rolls around, bask in the glorious Ibiza sunshine to the sweet sounds of a jazz band, as Petunia Ibiza hosts a special alfresco Easter brunch that’s complimentary for guests. There are dining options in each of thePetunia Ibiza restaurants between 11am and 4pm, including water, tea and coffee and a bonus welcome cocktail. Perhaps you’ll choose the stunning La Mirada Rooftop, where you’ll enjoy brunch with a side of Es Vedra views or maybe the farm-to-table freshness of La Mesa Escondida or the home-style warmth of Los Olivos Trattoria will tempt you poolside. Then for the rest of the day and night it’s more of the same luxe lounging and dining. Eat, drink, sleep, repeat is the order of the weekend.

On Monday April 18, 2022, the hotel channels the spirit of Ibiza – quite literally – through a fun workshop that teaches guests how to make Hierbas Ibicencas, the traditional liquor from Ibiza that fuses amazing local herb extracts with an aniseed flavour. If you’ve ever enjoyed a ‘chupito’ after dinner in Ibiza, this is your chance to learn the origins of the drink. Whether you’re heading home after the Easter weekend, or you opt to extend your stay for a week or more, you’ll leave Petunia Ibiza feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to return to daily life. All guests staying at the hotel on the opening weekend also receive an additional discount offer for future stays at the hotel, giving you all the more reason to come back to the island in summer…
