Ibiza bars: Le Bar
Old town magic
A quaint little spot set amid the labyrinth-like streets and hustle and bustle of Dalt Vila – Ibiza’s ‘old town’ – Le Bar is a new addition to the island’s cocktail scene this summer. Owned by the team behind the much-loved La Oliva, just across the cobbled walkway, it’s the perfect stop-off for pre or post dinner drinks and idly watching the world go by.
Diminutive in size but grandiose in stature, the interior space is intimate but boasts a lively, welcoming ambience. Cute, mismatched chairs and cushions complement wooden tables, and eclectic lamps hang jauntily from low-beamed ceilings. Outside, the tiny terrace is home to a couple of tables encompassed by little woven thrones straight from the pages of a fairytale.
The cocktail menu is premium but punchy, featuring classics plus some more innovative creations. Think Moscow Mules and Cosmpolitans alongside Thai mojitos – rum, coriander, fresh chilli and ginger beer, and Mezcal Marys – mezcal and tomato juice. The latter is essential if you’re in post-party recovery mode.
