Lost in Fusic – FUSE pop-up at Benimussa Park
FUSE London have a well deserved reputation for throwing down a decent party. Their weekly Sunday events in the city became the stuff of afterhour legend; from Loco Dice’s unannounced sets, to tINI’s longstanding residency, via Saturday Night Warehouse raves, and a move to East Village monthly, the popular and tightknit crew have been steadily writing their histories whilst gathering the most loyal of fans and friends along the way.
Their trajectory in Ibiza has been no less extraordinary for a party that powers itself on its core resident DJs and tries to avoids the easy lure of a big name guest. After a breathtaking summer of beach raves in the original Ushuaia and Delano on Playa d’en Bossa, followed by a DC10 pop-up and a season or two at Sankeys, they are spending 2015 on a more nomadic vibe. June saw the crew takeover the legendary Space terrace for two weeks of deep and dubby Tuesday night action, whilst July was mainly focused on head honcho Enzo Siragusa’s debuts at Amnesia for Cocoon, and Paradise for Jamie Jones.
And now to August – the month of Italian hordes descending, the overwhelming heat of summer, and the exciting news that FUSE will pop up in the old abandoned Zoo in Benimussa Park, just outside San Antonio next Tuesday, of course – Tuesday is Fuseday – August 25, 2015 from 5pm until midnight.
In amongst the shady trees, and starting with a welcome dip in the pool to cool off, the FUSE residents will hijack the Treehouse stage for an afternoon of friends and family, trees and techno in the wonderful and atmospheric gardens of one of the last open air venues left in Ibiza.
Benimussa Park is the home of the long-running Saturday weekly The Zoo Project, and also recently hosted Corona’s Sunset Sessions, where Pete Tong and Duke Dumont entertained a crowd of thousands well into the night. For escaping the intense madness of the larger resorts and experiencing a little piece of authentic Ibiza magic there really is no better place for a daytime rave at one of the busiest times of the season.
The line-up for the day will of course be based around the Fuse residents, Enzo Siragusa, Seb Zito and Rossko, with regular guest Archie Hamilton and fellow Fuse-lover Guti also performing live during the afternoon. Expect lots of familiar island faces, some rather more well known industry fans and a whole lot of new friends on the dance floor just waiting to be made. Fuseday is Tuesday after all.
