Seven days, seven different Ibiza sunsets…

Oh alright then… We know there’s only actually ONE sunset in Ibiza every night, but never has there been such a variety of destinations to watch the flaming red ball melt into the sea! In just one week in Ibiza you can experience the sunset in a different way each night – here’s our pick of the best sunset spots on the island.

Monday: Swedish House Mafia pre-party at Café Mambo

Quite possibly the most iconic of sunset destinations, not just in Ibiza but in the entire world, Café Mambo became known for its drop-in sunset sessions by superstar DJs like Sasha, Paul Oakenfold back in the early days, taking the attention away from its high profile, chilled out neighboring bar and going on to become THE premier bar and restaurant on San Antonio’s sunset strip. Today, the current crop of resident DJs – Alex Wolfenden, Jason Bye, Pete Gooding and Andy Baxter – spin eclectic, Balearic beats by day, leading up to that one perfect moment (and the essential song selection) at sunset before handing the reins over to special guest DJs such as David Guetta, Erick Morillo and Swedish House Mafia for the nightly Pacha pre-parties (with the exception of Roger Sanchez for Amnesia on Tuesdays), making it the ideal location to get you in the mood (and the place to buy your club tickets, if you didn’t already buy them here online) for the evening’s festivities ahead!

Tuesday: Cocktails at Cap Des Falco

Cap Des Falco, Ibiza Sunset Restaurant

Sunset over the salt plains at Cap Des Falco

One of the most unique and unspoiled sunset spots on the island, Cap Des Falco is a rustic chic lounge bar and restaurant located at the end of a long and bumpy trail that takes you on a scenic journey through Ibiza’s famous salt flats. Once you’ve reached your destination, further spectacular views await, including the tip of Es Vedra poking up over the hills, a view across to the airport runway to watch planes fly in overhead and of course, the striking sunset, reflected in the sea and salt flats to create a truly breathtaking effect. Should you be feeling peckish, chef Marino Colombo serves up the finest home made Italian fare with flair or you can simply sip on cocktails expertly shaken and stirred from the quaint boat-bar.

Wednesday: Kitty Club at Kama Sushi

Kama Sushi6

Non-stop sushi and free-flowing cava after sunset at Kama Sushi

Located on the opposite end of the sunset strip to its slightly more famous sister bar Café Mambo, Kama Sushi offers a special sushi-flavoured treat that will make you purr with satisfaction every Wednesday night. Book yourself a table and indulge in the amazing Lychee Mojito while watching the sunset, then after dark, stick around for Kitty Club – a new event guaranteed to keep you on the sunset strip long after the sun’s said sayonara! From 10pm until midnight, for just 20€, it’s non-stop sushi and free flowing cava, while DJ Brydie Tong brings the beats.

Thursday: Magic Moments in Spa La Posidonia at Hacienda Na Xamena

Hacienda Na Xamena - Hotel San Miguel

The ultimate room with a view from Hacienda Na Xamena's Cascadas

Hacienda Na Xamena, Ibiza’s original five star hotel and the heart and soul of the island’s north, boasts one of the most dramatic and spectacular sunset views you could ever dream of. Set high on a hilltop in San Miguel, the dramatic cliff faces frame the sunset as it sinks into sea level below, and if you thought watching it from the restaurant or chillout deck was amazing, you ain’t seen nothing yet! Book yourself in for a Magic Moments experience at the hotel’s exclusive Thalasso Spa, La Posidonia, where you will be treated to a 45 minute ‘Cascada’ experience, immersed in a custom designed water circuit, while tiny water jets massage you all over. The ultimate room with a view!

Friday: Boho-luxe beaching at Cala Conte

Ibiza Beach, Cala Conte

Soak up the sun's last rays from the rocks at Cala Conte

The beautiful beaches of the island’s west side truly are blessed, given that you can continue sunbathing and swimming up until the very last moments before sunset, so close are they to the main event. Spend a lazy afternoon on either the sand or the rocks at Cala Conte, making the most of the sun’s last rays and then head up to the bohemian seaside restaurant, Sunset Ashram for laidback beats courtesy of local DJs, Asian fusion style menu items and the ultimate sunset accessory, icy cold mojitos.

Saturday: Flamenco fun at Boutique Hostal Salinas

Join the Flamenco festivities at Boutique Hostal Salinas

Just because it’s not located on the island’s west side doesn’t make the view of the sunset from Las Salinas any less spectacular, and from the laidback lounge bar and restaurant of Boutique Hostal Salinas, the vision of the sky changing colours and the soft glow of the sun setting over the San Jose hills is every bit as spectacular as the seaside sunsets mentioned above. Every Saturday as an extra treat, local Flamenco crew Lailololailo take over the courtyard, presenting an amazing afternoon of Flamenco fusion, traditional Andalucian snacks, drinks and a barbeque to satisfy all cravings, starting in the late afternoon, and hitting its peak right at the stroke of sunset!

Sunday: The perfect hangover cure at Mint Lounge

Mint Lounge, Ibiza restaurant and cocktail bar

Sundays on ‘the strip’ tend to take on a much more relaxed vibe than the sometimes frenetic pace of the midweek madness. Forget the DJs, pre-parties and promotions – it’s all about chilling out, kicking back, relaxing and indulging in some much-needed comfort food at the newest addition to the Anadon family’s sunset bar collective, Mint Lounge. Think hearty, homemade pastas to help restore your energy, delicious hand-spun pizza creations with gourmet toppings to share and the perfect hair of the dog, a Bloody Mary prawn cocktail. All with front row seats and an uninterrupted view of nature’s nightly spectacle. The very definition of Sunday bliss…
