Once upon a time the port was packed with quirky drinking dens, but recently they’ve become harder to find. If you don’t find one, you create one, which is exactly what the owners of Paradise Lost did. At the helm is James Harvey, a long-term Ibiza dweller who is without a doubt one of the best pro barmen in Ibiza.

Paradise Lost is the place to be for purveyors of fine rum and cocktail connoisseurs, named in homage to Milton’s poem about temptation in the Garden of Eden. The invitation is simple – come and get lost in their snug surroundings with infamous DJs on orbit. That’s if you’re lucky enough to find it, tucked away on Carrer del Pasadis in Ibiza town, that narrow little street where the balconies seem to stretch overhead to greet each other.

With drip-inked paintings, luxe leather Chesterfield sofas and neon graffiti walls, the kitsch décor, unique feel and highly coiffable cocktails are exactly what Ibiza town needed. It’s one of those cool independent establishments where you pull up a stool and instantly feel truly at home. Not only do they look after you all year round, they make cocktails you’ll never forget.
