For innovative interior designer Leonardo Balli – founder and director of Balli Interiors – the process first takes him on an exploration of his clients’ desires, tastes and lifestyles, followed by a sartorial and multi-sensorial quest to match the right styles and pieces to their vision of a dream house. When Leonardo hands over the keys to a completed project, he knows his clients will immediately feel at home.

Art, design and construction are in Leonardo’s blood. From an early age, he was immersed in the technical side through his father’s construction business, while his aunt gave him a thorough education in art, aesthetics and décor through visits to the world’s most famous museums and important auction houses – interior design was the perfect fusion. After launching Balli Interiors in 2012 and passionately toiling away from his home of Verona in the north of Italy, Leonardo felt called to take the brand abroad. The young designer had already spread his wings internationally, regularly working on high-end projects in Paris, London and Milan and yet, a different location was calling.

Enter the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, the magnetic draw of Es Vedra and its community of stylish global jetsetters – the perfect destination to launch Balli Interiors in 2019. Clients come from all walks of life here, from the aforementioned jetset to famous A-listers, discerning global citizens and design aficionados. Today – predominantly through word of mouth – the company is one of the island’s most exceptional interior design agencies, just as Leonardo is one of the most visionary designers in his field. The brand’s new sleek and sophisticated showroom is also turning heads in Ibiza town, contributing to the gentrification of the cutting-edge location alongside a handful of other island creatives.

Through Balli Interiors, Leonardo expresses his creativity by designing homes that are mindful and minimal, yet warm, pure and soulful at the same time, in keeping with the spirit of the new Ibiza. Leonardo approaches each project as if it was his own home, however no two Balli Interiors projects are ever alike. Like a modern-day storyteller, Leonardo respects the traditional architecture of a home while fusing it with contemporary trends, timeless designs, tactile materials and a livable energy tailored to its owner. His designer’s sensibility means he is constantly seeking out new trends, styles and brands, while his grounded character means he always stays true to the soul of the property.

Drawing on his heritage, Leonardo works with many of the most respected Italian brands in the world, in addition to commissioning authentic artisans for bespoke furnishings, sourcing and restoring stunning vintage pieces and working with sustainable materials to respect our environment. Absolutely every small detail is given as much attention as major elements of interior design, from bespoke sofas and kitchens to incredible lighting installations and statement wallpaper that is like a work of art and including the subtle addition of Mediterranean flora to create the aroma of Ibiza and evoke the senses.
