La Maison nº74

The all-new Ibiza interiors shop and showroom in Santa Gertrudis was created by the team behind Numero 74 L’Atelier, designed to evoke the feeling of a traditional Ibicencan home in terms of style, layout and authenticity.

According to the well-known adage, home is where the heart is – a statement that’s been literally translated at La Maison nº74 in Santa Gertrudis. An extension of the much-loved Numero 74 L’Atelier, it’s the latest project to emerge from the brand’s founder and creative driving force, Tara Sfez, along with La Maison’s equally as creative manager Ambra Degli Agosti. Housed within a beautiful finca in the heart of the village, it showcases an approach to Ibiza interiors that’s inspiring, authentic and luxurious, yet accessible to one and all.

The centuries-old traditional farmhouse served as a family home for generations of Ibicencans before undergoing the subtle refurbishment that saw it become the home of La Maison nº74. Mindful of the building’s history, the team set about maintaining its well-worn character while also transforming the unique spaces into an immersive Ibiza interiors showroom of coveted and hand-curated homewares. The result is a store that feels like a private residence where rifling through rooms and keepsakes is encouraged, so that when your eyes inevitably land on something they like (and they will!), that item can make the journey from showroom to your own home. Anything and everything is for sale here.

Bedrooms – for babies, kids and adults – are bedecked in 100% organic cotton blankets, drapes and throws in earthy shades that usher in an atmosphere of sheer relaxation. Soft furnishings can also be custom-sewn in the Ibiza interiors boutique’s atelier, for oversized curtains, cushions and bedspreads with Balearic-inspired charms. There are handmade, misshapen ceramics and vases bursting with dried flower displays top rustic tables, combining for the perfect dining setup; statement candelabras, mint-tinted lampshades and light hangings akin to delicate paper doilies dangle from ceilings. Meanwhile, vintage tiles form a bathroom backdrop accessorised with organic gowns and toiletries, and the La Maison nº74 kitchen is – like anywhere – the heart of the home.

It’s obvious here is that Tara and Ambra poured their hearts, souls and energies into sourcing objects that make spaces feel vibrant and can evoke the same effect in any home. Their search for furnishings in keeping with their unique Ibiza interiors style spanned the Spanish mainland, Mallorca and Paris, and there was a concerted effort to find preloved items that could be spruced up and given a new lease of life. Desks, bed frames, benches, tables, chairs, cabinets and bookcases all receive the La Maison nº74 treatment before being placed in store, ready to embark on their next chapter of home-inspired service.

If admiring the shop’s aesthetic inspires you to give your Ibiza interiors a facelift, Tara and Ambra can also be commissioned for individual home decoration projects. Using your home as the blank canvas, they find the sweet spot between high quality style and everyday use, transforming properties into cornucopias that are functional but oh-so-chic. And if you don’t live on the white isle, products can be delivered direct to your door anywhere in the world thanks to the comprehensive online shop. At La Maison nº74, heart and home are one and the same.
