To the essential elements of proportion and lighting, Mauricio Moggia and Brigitte Rauscher of Moonk and Figus bring one more aspect to the design process – transparency. They’re not trying to be ‘rock star designers’; rather, the duo are purely interested in creating homes where people love to live. Excelling in interior and exterior design, the team bring cohesion between architecture, art and the vitality of the Ibiza lifestyle.
The Moonk and Figus showroom in Jesus features outdoor furnishings from across the globe including many hard to find brands. A carefree, sunny European holiday vibe with just a touch of cheek permeates the ever-changing collection – think oversized parasols providing shade to humorous starfish-shaped outdoor cushions that double as pool floats.
Inside, a playful outlook combines tone, colour, shape and texture into comfortable, thoughtfully lit spaces. The team specialise in textured and patterned wall coverings that add depth and colour to an island obsessed with white walls. Papers adapted for bathrooms provide an alternative to the usual tiles and stone, while furniture and lighting come from an eclectic array of designers, many of which are exclusive to Moonk and Figus.
The overarching ethos of a Moonk and Figus design is providing a collaborative experience from a foundation of transparency. Alongside their extensive network of suppliers and producers, plus experienced on-island teams, Moggia and Rauscher work with an expectation of trust to ensure all collaborations and projects run smoothly from start to finish.
