Do you often find yourself criticising yourself for not being good enough? Or slim enough? Or meeting the goals that you have been setting in business or at home? How often do you take space and time to really listen to what your heart is asking for? To slow down, create quiet and ‘tune in’?
Being kind, gentle and loving to your whole self, your body and your mind, inevitably lifts your spirits too… it really does help you feel happier and healthier emotionally – and on a cellular level too.
This Valentine’s Day, we encourage you to try out some gentle ‘self coaching’ to interrupt these ‘hard on yourself patterns’, to create time and space to listen to what your mind, body and spirit needs. This releases tension, lowers your levels of anxiety, boosts your self-esteem and enhances your body’s immunity (the ability to fight sickeness and disease). And when you are loving yourself properly, this self-respect and appreciation, by the universal law of attraction (as quantum physics states) attracts more of the same!
Why? Well – remember the last time you felt truly loved… When someone was being kind, thoughtful, caring and considerate towards you. Remember how much more relaxed you felt? How else did you feel? What were the other feelings and emotions you were experiencing? (Go ahead… write them down). Your body will relax to allow you to receive the benefits of this kindness and a relaxed body equals a HEALTHY body. It also enables you to ATTRACT more healthy, happiness and wellbeing to you… (don’t you love to be around relaxed people who clearly know how to enjoy love in their lives?)
3 keys for enhancing the self-love in your life:
(1) Create space and time for yourself to purely ‘be’ each day – that means FREE from phones, emails, TV screens and other stimulants – yoga or meditation is wonderful, the gym can be too yet without setting GOALS – this is vital! because it will create the head space to be able to feel your body and what you really need on a physical and emotional level.
(2) Walk in nature daily – or at least on weekends! Being outside in the fresh air – yes – even in cities – where you can see the sky (or the clouds) – in the green expanses of parks (in cities) and fields (in the country) calms the body, relaxes the mind and enables us to release tension and toxic thoughts and feelings.
(3) Monitor your self-talk – notice when you hare being hard on yourself in your head… (for example, “stupid me” type thoughts) and change this inner-negativity to a more positive stream of self-talk – self-appreciation and self-respect. Talk to yourself as if you would your beloved! (Or a lover you want to attract).
