You’re in love with the idea of getting married in Ibiza, but with so many beautiful Ibiza wedding venues, where’s one supposed to start? It’s hard enough finding the perfect partner! We’ve selected our five favourite types of Ibiza wedding and matched them with the island’s very best wedding locations to help make your choice easier. You can thank us with an invite later on…
Traditional church weddings
Ibiza’s gorgeous all-white architecture lends itself spectacularly to wedding photos, and nothing more than the many beautiful churches dotted around the island, contrasting beautifully against the lush green hills and deep blue sea. Of course, there’s quite a lot of footwork involved and it’s definitely not as easy as picking up the phone and making a booking! Requirements vary, depending on the type of ceremony you’ve chosen – your Ibiza wedding planner can point you in the right direction.
Ibiza is famous for its striking coastline, with over 90 beaches beckoning and vying for your attention, rocky cliffs, crystal waters and pale golden sand and getting married barefoot in the sand is many an Ibiza bride’s dream. While it’s not strictly legal to be married on the beach, it is possible to get married in conjunction with a restaurant or Ibiza wedding venue that has a license to use the beach – which is exactly what you want for the reception anyway, right?
The spectacular Ibiza sunset brings a tear to most eyes on any given day, but pair it with a romantic wedding and there won’t be a dry eye in the house! To many, getting married at sunset may sound quite late in the day, but keep in mind the sweltering summer heat and the comfort of your guests, not to mention the fact everything stays open much later here and you’ll easily be persuaded!
They say your wedding is one of the best days of your life, so why not make an entire holiday out of it? Get a bunch of your besties and hire out a hotel – whether for a long weekend, week or fortnight – and eliminate the need for driving, while making certain everyone’s contained in one location! Alternatively, renting a luxurious Ibiza villa can make you feel even more at home for the week, like wedding base camp one!
You’d be crazy to think that a bunch of guests hitting the white isle for a wedding didn’t have the party lifestyle on their minds – especially when many brides and grooms may have met and fell in love here – which means organising a super soiree as part of your big day is going to be a huge factor. We love the venues that aren’t afraid to kick aside the chairs and tables to make way for a dancefloor once the dining and speeches are over…
