Where to party, winter style

pacha
Ibiza residents and clued-up holidaymakers will be among the first to tell you the party is never over in Ibiza – and that the winter fiestas are the ones that are the most talked about for years to come. Whether in a scaled down version of a super club, some of the island’s most intimate party venues or in the back rooms of restaurants open all year round, Ibiza’s winter party people are up-for-it, enthusiastic and everywhere… even if it is mostly contained to the weekends in winter!

Pacha crowd
As you’d expect, the biggest parties take place in Pacha, which is reconfigured to make the global room the main focus every Friday and Saturday night (except in the case of special events and NYE when the main room is in use), with a roaring fireplace, cosy corners and of course, the obligatory Pacha dancers in slightly more clothes than summer! Big tips this winter are guest slots by Cadenza Vagabundos and Defected In The House, plus the monthly Pachatronica parties, hosted by Pacha resident Andy Baxter and featuring some of the very best underground talent in Ibiza.

Aura Opening Party, April 2011

Meanwhile, every Friday, northern institution Aura continues with its ever-popular parties featuring DJ Antz, bringing the locals to the dancefloor to the sounds of rave-meets-house-classics until the very early hours. Further down the road, Nagai have added to the weekend fun, with live music on Saturday nights plus resident DJs Luigi C. and J. Viana.

Sandy's Bar & Restaurant, legendary Ibiza restaurant

Over in the Santa Eulalia neighbourhood, theatre restaurant Somiart opens up its restaurant floors to salsa parties every Saturday night (December 10 is the big one), while over in the notorious ‘restaurant street’ Sandy’s Bar & Restaurant holds a weekly open mike night (for the talented and the brave!) plus hosts live music events every Friday night, with the cream of the Ibiza crop coming out of hibernation to tread the boards.
