Ibiza resort life in 2020

The best island resorts where you can check in and never leave (until your check out date!), with plush suites, beautiful pools, amazing restaurants, decadent spas and gyms, sensational...

Looking for a place where you can check in and spend the entire duration of your holiday in one place? Just imagine, moving from your luxurious suite to a poolside daybed or cabana, followed by lunch onsite in an high-end restaurant, a relaxing treatment in a decadent spa, perhaps a workout in a high-tech gym, more pool time, sunset rooftop cocktails and then dinner in an elegant fine dining restaurant before a nightcap in the bar then back to the room for bed… it’s what resort life is all about, and Ibiza knows how to do it best.

Our beautiful Balearic island feels as if it has come back to life this week, with plenty of holidaymakers creating that familiar buzz and more hotels, bars and restaurants opening by the day. For those seeking a safe holiday experience, perhaps within the four walls of a resort, or those simply looking for a dose of luxury after a challenging few months, Ibiza’s best luxury resorts are just the thing. With amazing views, great swimming pools, luxury spas, elegant high-end restaurants, world-class cocktail bars and so much more, it’s the ultimate way to escape everyday life. Check in, and you may never want to check out – Ibiza resort life in 2020 has been upgraded to the next level.

7Pines Resort Ibiza, Cala Conta, South West

Perched on what is possibly one of the most breathtaking and magical expanses of land on the white isle, 7Pines Resort Ibiza is a five-star resort that has been wowing locals and international guests since it opened in 2018. Located on a corner clifftop that offers panoramic views of the sunset, views over Cala Codolar and also Ibiza’s famously mythical islet Es Vedra, suites here have been designed to make guests truly feel at home away from home, while maintaining the high luxury standards you’d expect from a contemporary five-star resort. The hotel infinity pool has become an Insta-icons, thanks to its jaw-dropping views and clever glass fronted wall that allows guests to take unique snaps while swimming, while the Laguna pool is more popular with families. Pure Seven, the resort’s wellness centre, boasts a beautiful atrium style yoga and relaxation space, that looks straight out to sea, plus a high-tech gym, boutique and amazing treatment rooms with the best therapies available. When it comes time to dine, Cone Club takes guests (and the public) on a jourmey through Spain, with tapas and Spanish-inspired cuisine and is THE place to be for the nightly Sunset Rituals, where DJs spin Balearic beats as the sun sinks into the sea. After dark, it’s all about The View, for Asian cuisine cooked on a Robata grill, and Pershing Yacht Terrace for cocktails and live music. Now open.

Aguas de Ibiza Grand Luxe Hotel, Santa Eulalia, East

One of only two resorts in Ibiza to have been awarded the coveted ‘Five-Star Grand Luxe’ category for five-star (plus) hotels, the divine Aguas de Ibiza Grand Luxe Hotel, presides proudly over the promenade of Santa Eulalia’s Paseo Martimo. Despite its grand structure and impeccable facilities and services, the resort is Ibicenco – warm, welcoming, open minded and beautiful – to its core. With an array of incredible suites with names like ‘Cloud Nine’ and ‘Dreamer’, each room has been designed with Feng Shui philosophy for total harmony and peace throughout. In addition, the hotel boasts both a ground floor large swimming pool and a rooftop plunge pool, plus a Revival Spa by Clarins for when you really need to relax, after all the relaxing you’ve been doing! And when it’s time to dine, you’re really spoiled for choice, with four restaurants in total: Öligo Madeinterranean and Alabastro exclusively for guests, plus the all-new Maymanta rooftop concept, open to one and all. Now open.

Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, Talamanca, Ibiza town

While many resorts offer sea views and easy access to a marina or beach, it’s quite rare to find a hotel in Ibiza that’s situated directly on the sand. Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is one such five-star luxury resort, set on the seafront of Talamanca, near Marina Botafoch and a very short drive from Ibiza town. Here, you’ll find all the first-class style and service associated with the internationally renowned Nobu brand, but with an added boho-luxe Ibiza touch through chic and stylish furnishings, art and those incredible Balearic blue views. Each room and suite is pure luxury, and the indulgences continue on the ground floor of the hotel, where there are two stunning swimming pools – one for adults, one that is family friendly – plus cabanas, day beds and sun lougers for your lazing pleasure. Order from the poolside menu, or take a break from the sun in the hotel’s Mediterranean chiringuito style restaurant Chambao for fantastic traditional rice dishes, fresh seafood and healthy, hearty salads. The Spa by Six Senses Ibiza welcomes those who need to relax and unwind, while a new fitness centre is on hand for anyone who doesn’t want to skip a beat of their regime while on holidays. A John Frieda Salon is ideal for pre-dinner blow-dries and styling, while the boutique, Almacén, offers everything you could possibly need for a day to night Ibiza experience. And speaking of nights, well of course, nights at Ibiza Bay are all about the signature Nobu restaurant – dining on Japanese and Peruvian fusion cuisine (again, with an Ibiza twist) beneath the stars in the fresh Mediterranean air. Now open.

Amàre Beach Hotel Ibiza, San Antonio, Ibiza

Cala de Bou is an untapped area of Ibiza that’s experiencing somewhat of a gentrification process at the moment, and one of the stars of the show is Amàre Beach Hotel Ibiza – a very luxurious four-star resort with its own jetty for those who want to jump straight aboard their boat charter in the morning. In addition to its first-rate facilities – stylish suites, jaw dropping sunset views and one of the island’s most beautiful swimming pools – the resort also boasts a rooftop like nowhere else in Ibiza. With an infinity pool, plus the Belvue Rooftop chill-out area, which features live music to soundtrack the nightly sunset views, there’s also Hayaca – a Latin American fusion restaurant, headed up by Michelin-starred chef, Mauricio Giovanini and a seductive range of signature cocktails from Diego Cabrera, one of Spain’s most applauded mixologists. By day, there’s also the Amàre Lounge, where guests can lounge and enjoy drinks and snacks, and finally, wind down at Wellness by Germaine de Capuccini, the state of the art spa, before returning to your room with a view. Opening on July 24, 2020.

Ibiza Gran Hotel, Marina Ibiza, Ibiza

Opening July 24, 2020, Ibiza Gran Hotel was the first resort in Ibiza to be awarded the accolade of ‘Five-Star Grand Luxe’ and from the moment you step inside, it’s easy to see why. Gran by name and grand by nature, it’s set in the beautiful Marina Ibiza district, and with its close proximity to Ibiza’s only nightlife spots this summer, plus the buzz of Ibiza town and its happening restaurant scene, not to mention the ease of crossing the road to jump onto your boat charter, it’s an obvious choice for lovers of luxury who also want to dip their toes into the island’s action. Back within the hotel, the layers of luxury are almost endless: from the state-of-the-art suites (all with a view across the port to Dalt Vila), the heavenly haven of peace Open Spa, which includes its famous water circuit in addition to a plethora of indulgent treatments, plus two restaurants: Costa Mara for daytime dining (which can also be ordered poolside), plus the impressive La Gaia, headed up by lauded chef Óscar Molina and where Mediterranean produce and traditional Japanese Kaiseki methods are fused and embraced. A Rialto Living boutique, incredibly unique art and sculpture plus much more are the icing on the Ibiza Gran Hotel cake.

ME Ibiza, Santa Eulalia, East – July 24

Fusing a minimalist soul with sophisticated beach vibes, five-star luxury Ibiza resort ME Ibiza is nestled into the golden sands of Cala Martina near Santa Eulalia – just far enough away from town to be completely blissful and peaceful, but close enough to dive into the action when you feel ready (it’s also next door to Nikki Beach Ibiza for instant gratification). The resort’s signature restaurant, Bianco Mare overlooks the sea and serves up nourishing snacks, wood-fired pizzas and casual lunches by day, and fine Italian dining by night, while on the rooftop, Radio Me, serves up cocktails with a views. By day, guests here can take advantage of spacious cabanas and daybeds around the pool and exclusive service, while by night it becomes a hub for pre and post dinner socialising. There’s another pool downstairs for guests with children (the rooftop is adults-only), and a high-end fitness centre and spa completing the package of this amazing east coast gem.
