Away from the hustle and bustle of Ibiza’s disco crowds, Can Domingo sits in an ancient finca in the hills of San Jose, a must-visit on the Ibiza fine dining map thanks to owners Andrea Sanarica, Giuseppe Vivacqua and Alessandro Barni Spadacini who transformed the venue into a secret, magical garden restaurant in 2012.
The Can Domingo concept showcases the finest Italian cuisine created with the very best products – including organic vegetables grown onsite in the permaculture garden (essential for the specialist new vegetarian and vegan menu options). Sip cocktails at the beautiful stone bar, beneath a centuries old olive tree, then soak up the sea and campo views from tables scattered among the garden for a true Ibiza fine dining experience.
Live music can be heard at Ibiza fine dining destination Can Domingo three times a week in July and August: on Tuesdays, special guests the Muriel Grossman Quartet bring their spiritual jazz sounds; on Wednesdays, island resident DJ Silvia Operè spins a DJ set and on Saturdays, live duo Juno perform their unique experimental soundscapes.
The traditional four-course Ibiza fine dining menu at Can Domingo includes homemade pastas and breads, traditional dishes like egg yolk tagliolini and Ibizan prawns, agnolotti del plin stuffed with three different meats and vitello tonnato. Sample juicy Ibicenco and Gallego meats, including slow cooked suckling pig or lamb with honey and lavender or fresh, light seafood, such as Mediterranean red tuna belly with Ibiza herbs.
Italian delicacies like premium cold cuts from Piacenza and rare Piemontese cheeses and mouthwatering desserts are another of Can Domingo’s Ibiza fine dining specialties. A rich and constantly updated wine list completes the experience, offering 140 references including personally imported Italian red wines and an excellent selection of French champagne.
